How many days should i acclimatize in cusco before the trek?
It’s very important to be well-acclimatized before starting your inca jungle trek. we recommend arriving in cusco 2 to 3 days before the trek to adapt to the altitude and minimize the risk of altitude sickness.
if you have already been in another high-altitude region of peru, we still suggest spending at least one full day in cusco to rest, recover from your journey, and enjoy the city’s unique charm before beginning your adventure.

Briefing or information meeting
All inca jungle trek briefings take place at our main office in cusco (or your hotel) at 17:00 the evening before the tour. the meeting lasts between 30 and 45 minutes.
if you cannot attend, please contact us by email, phone, or directly at our office to arrange another time.
Trek balance payment in Cusco
- If you have an outstanding trek balance, it must be paid at least 2 days before your trek. otherwise, your reservation will not be confirmed.
- We recommend paying the balance in cash (usd or peruvian soles) at our office in cusco. atms along avenida sol allow withdrawals in both currencies.
- You may also pay by credit/debit card or paypal, either online or in person. however, please note that a 5% service charge applies.
- Unfortunately, we cannot accept bank drafts or traveller’s cheques.
Duffel bag or canvas bag
During your inca jungle trek briefing, you will receive a duffel bag (60 x 24 x 22 cm / 23.6 x 9.45 x 8.66 in).
- It will be carried by our team of porters and handed to you at each camp.
- Maximum weight allowed: 6 kg / 13.2 lb (including your sleeping bag, sleeping mat, clothes, and personal items).
Luggage storage in Cusco
Yes, of course! during your inca jungle trek to machu picchu, you can safely store your main luggage at our office in cusco (arrange this during the briefing or by email) or at your hotel — both free of charge.
- Equipment not needed for the trek can stay at your hotel.
- Most hotels offer free storage service.
- Do not leave valuables in your luggage. place them in the hotel safe and request a detailed receipt (required by many insurance companies).
- For extra security, keep items such as credit cards in a sealed, signed envelope.
Collecting guests in cusco
- All pick-ups are within the city of cusco. we recommend booking a hotel in the historic centre for easy access.
- Our staff will confirm your pick-up time the day before the tour.
- Due to traffic, pick-up may vary by 30–45 minutes.
- Note: many hotels/airbnbs in cusco are located on narrow, steep, cobbled streets inaccessible by car. please choose accommodation with good access to avoid luggage difficulties.
Group tours
joining a group inca jungle trek means sharing with travelers of different ages and physical conditions. everyone will move at their own pace.

Strikes and demonstrations in peru
