Children of Tunqui Expeditions

For 2024, We Have Launched an Incredible New Program: “YACHASUNCHIS NOQANCHISPATA”

This phrase, in the local language, means “Knowing Our Own.” In Andean villages, most children never leave their homes and grow up only seeing their own town. NOW, with this program, children from different villages and students from local schools will have a unique opportunity to take a free tour to visit several Inca archaeological sites included in our Sacred Valley Tour.

In the surroundings of Cusco, children will also have the chance to visit our new tourist attraction, Rainbow Mountain.

Our goal is that every Sunday, at least 10-15 children, aged 8 to 14, will be picked up from their village and taken on a guided tour with a Tunqui Expeditions guide.

They will learn about their culture, traditional food, and the incredible legacy built by their ancestors. After the tour, they will be safely returned to their villages in the evening.

By the end of the year, we hope that at least 500 students will have visited these sites and feel proud of the rich Inca culture we have taught them.

How Can You Join This Program?

We invite you to volunteer for a free educational tour of the Sacred Valley or Rainbow Mountain with these children. You will experience firsthand how Tunqui Expeditions creates opportunities for Andean children to learn more about their heritage.

Since spots are very limited, only 2-4 people can join each Sunday. If you are interested, let us know to secure your place.

Come and help us give back to the community we love so much!

How to Contribute to This Program?
