At Tunqui Expeditions, we passionately believe that mountains exist for everyone to enjoy, but they must always be respected and protected. On every expedition, we remain mindful and committed to preserving the natural wonders found in these majestic landscapes.
We are all very aware of the destructive impact that many commercial expeditions have had on mountains, valleys, and rivers, as well as the collateral effects on the communities within them.
This is not our path.
Tunqui Expeditions strongly believes in and follows the policies of “Clean As You Go” and “Leave No Trace,” insisting that all travelers, tourists, and guides adhere to environmental rules, regulations, and guidelines.
✔ All team members are well-trained and educated in environmental awareness related to mountaineering and trekking.
✔ We ensure the proper disposal of waste and recycle oxygen cylinders whenever possible.
✔ We actively operate under the “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” (RRR) approach for expedition equipment whenever appropriate.
Every year, we organize cleanup expeditions in different locations—not for personal gain, but out of love for our planet and to maintain a clean environment.
✔ Tunqui Expeditions actively organizes Cleanup Campaigns alongside tourism companies and government environmental organizations, including the National Service of Natural Protected Areas (SERNANP).
✔ During these campaigns, staff members clean trails, collect plastic bottles, and remove non-organic waste from the environment.
At Tunqui Expeditions, we take action to protect the places we explore—ensuring a cleaner, healthier planet for future generations.
